Altho your statement sounds righteous, it leaves out both the ends and the means of Saddam Hussein. An embargo was a previous attempt to weaken Saddam, and it cruelly punished children and the poor. Given the fact that Saddam wasn't going to resign for the good of his people, what means do you suggest, short of force, to rid the world of this criminal? Remember, thr french blocked UN intervention.

FWIW, last night I had dinner over a Syrian friend's home. There were people there from Baghdad, Lebanon, and Kashmir--all Muslims. We were all in agreement with the invasion of Iraq. We differed in what the next steps should be and what the costs would be. They knew the torture and murder he committed--which you tend to ignore.

BTW--The woman from Iraq triggered the airport metal detector with her bra. When they found out she was Iraqi, it was a good thing that she had a sense of humor.

Perhaps I've misjudged you. But how do we eliminate Saddam without force?
