Agreed.
The notion that amateur pilots could effectively engage in the maneuvers required to tilt the two jets attacking the WTC at about 35 degrees in order to ignite several floors of the towers rather than one or two, and the radical manuever to divert AA 77 about 270 degrees to the least damaging face of the Pentagon is simply too far fetched to be believable.
The answers to the remaining questions of who was involved revolve around the actions of those who should have been in charge of the nation's safety at this time, i.e., what has happened to them, who has attempted to conceal the records, etc.
The efforts were well-planned, but it appears the confidence in the ability to stonewall/conceal/distract was too high. The Sunday talk shows for the first time in a while showed fast tap-dancing by Rummie, Ashcroft, Rice. I've never seen Rummie so flustered as he was on Face the Nation, usually the most polished of the administration liars, instead coming across legalistic and disembling in the face of Tim Russert's simple questions.
Next: theyll try to reduce the heat by making someone walk the plank, probly a minor subordinate, of course. Won't work tho', the Dean success has encouraged other opposition in both parties to timidly ask for a little bit of truth, here and there. And a little goes a long way.
Anyone hear the 911 commission news conference? More of the best tap-dancing in Washington. Example: "No, the administration has not denied us any documents. They are just delaying". I.e., they aren't stonewalling us, they just aren't giving us any documents. LOL!
Then they hurrumph about not letting CIA handlers sit with witnesses, etc.
There are so many hundreds of witnesses to be concerned about and information to be purged, it will be interesting to see how they get themselves out of this |
