Walter, certain cable companies are struggling, like TCI(they are very weak). There are few cable companies overseas that are struggling, most of the U.K. is getting telephony over cable,Hong Kong is totally HFC wired. If you only look at the U.S. and TCI you will get a misperception. It is funny that cable is looked upon as inept here, and telephone co.s are well run. Abroad it is just the opposite. Go to the HLIT thread and read some of the info,it will enlighten you,but then again it is one of my largest holdings in telecom, along with BAY. Also look at MSFT and their investment in Comcast and Progressive networks ,and VXtrem. Bill Gates is putting alot of money into cable, and he will be rewarded as usual. The market is a funcion of Bill's net worth. Hiram |
