Thanks for that well written post. Somehow however, I find that I'm too angered by the betrayal of America by the Bush Crime Family to think that we need to reflect upon the nuanced niceties of polite political discourse and demonstrable leadership at this moment.

For now, a rallying cry of ABB -- Anyone But Bush is just fine.

Your interest in Clark is a good avenue to pursue. There are several organizations that are promoting a Draft Clark agenda. It must be quite flattering for the fellow. As well as a good way to spare himself some of the early dirty tricks of the Rove rogues.

Rumors abound at this point in the campaign for the next Democratic candidate. To read the mainstream press, we are to believe that Karl Rove is ecstatic about the possibilities of a Howard Dean candidacy. Viewing Dean as smearable as being a leftie, in spite of the fact that Dean's record is completely centrist and fiscally conservative.

The ticket that I believe to be most electable for the Dems would be Kerry/Clark. A completely unassailable combination on the foreign policy/military front, as far as thinking Americans is concerned. Of course Rove will attack on the notion that Kerry was anti-war at the end of the Viet Nam fiasco, but I doubt that plays well with anyone other than the dedicated dullards who form the nucleus of Limbaugh's dittohead army.

But, as citizens we must never forget the sad fact of American political life. We don't really have choices. All we can hope for is to vote for the evil of two lessors. And hope that the Republic lasts a little while longer.
