Bill Gately, General Manager of Philips Advanced Metrology Systems, Inc., said, "We selected Brooks to be the automation provider for our new business because they were able to provide the most complete and tightly integrated solution for our automation needs. With Brooks, we are able to automate our hardware infrastructure and efficiently integrate our hardware environment with host communications and controls. We felt that Brooks is the only company that can provide integration at three different levels of automation-at the equipment, controls and host levels."

Santo Dinaro, senior vice president of the Factory Hardware Group of Brooks Automation, said, "Brooks is able to provide comprehensive, integrated automation solutions for companies such as Philips AMS so that they can concentrate on bringing their core technology to market faster and more cost effectively. Equipment manufacturers are continuing to outsource what they view as their non-core technology, such as automation, to companies like Brooks, creating a win-win situation for both the customers and suppliers. We are pleased to be supporting the automation requirements for Philips' exciting new business, and we are confident that our solutions will help them achieve faster time to market in the growing copper metrology market."

The integrated EFEM and mini-environment system from Brooks is a contamination-free environment that ensures the highest level of cleanliness in wafer processing tools and equipment. The FIXLOAD load port provides maximum reliability, the industry's fastest wafer-access time, ultra-clean operation, and optimized load port interoperability. ExpressLink software provides a full supervisory control solution including a graphical user interface, scheduling and recipe management. iLink provides an advanced COM interface, enabling host communication in 200mm and 300mm fabs. CCS software provides the industry de facto standard for certification of 200mm and 300mm Host Communication standards.
