They (al Qaeda) are ideologically driven terrorists and as such, are exactly like the Baathists.

They will fight the US on Iraqi soil if given the room. They will ally with the Baathists to do so. (Until one of them double crosses the other).

soldiers/militants/terrorists/liberators - I have put all these terms in, because what you call the folks fighting in the ME often (but not always, of course) is determined by your beliefs, and not really by what they are actually doing (imo).

What they have actually been doing is killing folks in bunches like bananas for sake of some rubbishy ideology, I say they're terrorists.

You can work the moral relativism side of the street all you want, but the fact remains, al Qaeda and Baathists are terrorists and they're promoting tyranny.
