This thread will get busy once the S*&t really hits the fan with the California budget crises. Not only state employees, but also state contractors & subcontractors will be hit hard. Then all the businesses that rely on them... IMO, it is going to get ugly, and the layoffs will make everything on this thread to date look mild.
