you consider Nixon's crimes minor indiscretions. My biggest problem with Nixon was his "wage and price controls" scheme. What the hell was he thinking, anyway?? Soviet States of America?? Without looking it up, my murky recollection is that the Dow peaked at slightly over 1,000 in 1971 and didn't reach or surpass that level again for ten years or so. Anyone with accurate dates and figures, feel free to correct me...
