This explains a lot... The company appears about to receive FDA approval for an iron dialysate product that has the impressive capacity to chelate the unwanted circulatory flotsam from failing kidneys. If that statement has a large component of validity, then this company, and this stock, have quite a future. =============== (my emphasis) Dow Jones Business News Rockwell Gets Pdt Designation From FDA For Dialysate Iron Tuesday July 15, 5:07 pm ET WIXOM, Mich. (Dow Jones)--Rockwell Medical Technologies Inc. received " combination product" classification from the Food and Drug Administration for its blood cleansing product. In a press release Tuesday, the company said the classification of Dialysate Iron Concentrate was a "significant milestone" toward getting marketing approval for the drug, which removes toxins from the blood of patients with renal failure. The drug is also designed to provide supplementary iron during dialysis treatment. The FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health will have lead responsibility for the product's premarket review and regulation. Shares of Rockwell Medical closed Tuesday at $2.40, up 8 cents, or 3.4% on composite volume of 56,300 shares. Average daily volume is 18,562 shares.
