Ish, there are heaps of toxic substances and radioactive ones too. Tons of yellowcake isn't a weapon of mass destruction. Get a grip.

You are quite right that pollutants in harbours are undesirable. It would also be really annoying to have to wash down a whole lot of radioactive dust over a downtown area.

Do you really think that Saddam was fixin' to sprinkle uranium pixie dust in Noo Yawk? What would that gain him, apart from an enraged, foaming at the mouth swarm of crazed rabid Republican right and drooling deranged loonie Democratic lefties swarming all over him? Which he was going to get anyway.
