Excellent post. I bet you're right about the deflationary excuse and about the bond market.

Greenie appeared to back off of his previous claim that the Fed could always defeat deflation. I find it hard to believe you can have deflation if the Fed runs the presses full out (although that would lead to such disastrous side effects that you'd long for deflation). His denial may be just to bolster his excuse to keep money supply rising.

Energy prices are rising
Talk of energy shortages in CA again.

Hmmmm.....
They'd better make it look convincing and real this time.
