I never said we actually HAD deflation. I just said the Fed could counter it if it were determined to.

If you hadn't "smooch"ed me at the end, I could be tempted to fish out the post that came pretty much immediately afterwards, where you tried to prove there was indeed deflation, going into Fed websites, posting links to some particular CPI & PPI numbers and stuff. As it is, I will just say "If you say so" :-)

I'm aware of what Bernanke said and was at the time he said it. I thought he'd lost his mind and should be forced to retire. (Or was he just speaking for Greenie?)

Bernanke wasn't the issue here, but if you want to talk about his speech of late November 2002, my two cents is that he deliberately talked about printing money because he wanted the USD to depreciate against other major currencies.
