When I said "Z put it over the top" I meant that X and Y weren't enough. They weren't enough for a lot of people. Even X, Y and Z weren't enough for a lot of people. I only know a couple of people who though this war was justified and they all were persuaded by the existence of WMD and Iraq's alleged ability to use them in our homeland. They weren't persuaded by X and Y. So the potential absence of Z is a really big deal to them.

I don't have any such problem. I didn't think there was enough justification even with X, Y, and Z. The only valid objective I could see was the freedom of the Iraqi people. And that was neither sufficiently assured nor important enough on its own to warrant waging a war in the face of such opposition and precedent setting. IMO. So, in terms of my support, it doesn't really matter if Bush "lied" or not.

I only posted that column because I thought it clever and funny.
