Tom VTSS certainly has been one of those "One in a Hundred", and I hope it keeps up. ((And, of course you are entitled to more :-) )) It does seem that best bets are those that you catch reasonably early and hang on. Usually we take too many profits too early, IMO; for me one example was Oxford Health (oxhp).. I picked up 300 share, which split and split and split. But I kept "taking my profits". Well, I ended up making over $40K, but by that time, if I had done nothing except hold, I would have been over $140K profits... and that would have been still higher today, as I sold out a couple of years ago. Also of interest. In the fall of '74 I bought everything I could get my hands on...and more than tripled my money by April, '75. At which time I sold most and bought a campground. We went back one time and calculated the value of what we sold in '75, and it was significantly over a million. The campground ended up being about a 6%/year deal. Moral: stock market is better. I'll look for that book, Tom. And meanwhile, many more VTSS's to you! dlo |
