That happened for sure. "tortured" is iffy - the rail riding and tarring was probably pretty painful. However, re. your words "murdered" and "raped", I see nothing in your link to support that. Likely someone somewhere was but that doesn't seem to have been the normal situation. Without being able to back up the claim of murder of Loyalists, and lots of them, your attempt to slander George Washington as worse than bin Ladin only reveals your own anti-American bias.
