The name of that book may have been [or been in part] King's Mountain, because that was a place where the rebels murdered a lot of unarmed loyalist prisoners, i think it was hundreds of them right there ... of course it was not the only occurrence, prisoners were slaughtered elsewhere, all over ..... there is little of this on the net, the history of these events having obviously been written by the murderers, not the murderees .... there was rapine, a whole series of rapes early on in the struggle in New York of which i recall hearing, and of course in a civil war of this viciousness and magnitude you will not come off as brilliant pretending there was none
Were you genuinely interested in the truth, you may be able to find something of the history using "United Empire Loyalists" as search term, i believe they have a site on the net
Trivia point i learned in earlier search - an old girlfriend of George Washington's was robbed by the new regime of everything their family had built, and he did nothing to stop it ... her name, Mary Philipse ... their politics, pacifists with loyalist sympathies, non-combatants
Even writers fully supporting the rebellion made in some cases an effort to leave a somewhat accurate history of events, so it's on your own head if you continue to permit your education to stop at John Wayne movies .... as for 'anti-American', lol, i am 'of and pertaining to these Américas' in more of its parts than you are, amigo mío, and i'm a good deal better americano than are you, as well
