i strongly suspect that he had the foot on the wrong pedal. Witnesses say that every time he hit a booth the car jumped forward as he had a determined look on his face. The witnesses were saying it as if he was intentionally accelerating. I'm guessing that he was trying to step on the brake even harder.

I wonder what kind of driving test he had to do to get his driver's license. Is there a certain age at which drivers have to take an actual driving test, rather than just the written test?
