I just ran AdAware on my kids new computer, which has only been up for two weeks and hasn't had a cookie blocker. They had 17 spyware hits, sixteen of them in the form of cookies. Still think I'm nuts? I don't block all cookies -- some are necessary, such as those from my online bank, Yahoo mail, etc. But many, many sites toss cookies up there purely for their commercial benefit with no need for them to serve me and no concern about whether I want them being able to track me all over the net so they can send me even more spam.
