Thanks, TC, for the info and link. If I understand correctly what I read, if my son hasn't installed any new programs or drivers after the restore point he chooses, then the registry will be restored to its condition as of the restore date and all entries from that "fxxx.com.exe" will be deleted. I still think it's a good idea to search for the file as per Mr. Mark's suggestion and delete it. Do you think deleting the file (if he can find it) and using system restore at a restore point prior to this occurring will solve the problem?
