Lunatics? Nah! The name of the game is Power & Might. And who cares about the money if you have the pwer to confiscate (by inflation, by changing the pension laws, changing the healthcare benefits....). In the congress Q&A, I distinctly rememeber Sir Al, KBE saying: - f#ck the employment rate, only jobs in technology matter - f#ck the GDP (as the technology contribution is multiplied by an hedonic adjusment factor) - economy will be saved by refis of house mortgages at better terms, making more money (and debt) available for consumption. (Hence the need for the Fed to buy longer term maturities to keep interest low on mortgages). .... and when all wealth will be mortgaged or borrowed, devalue the Dollar. Lunatics don't have an agenda.
