DJ, Skinner had no idea about humans. Or rats for that matter. The experimental rule is that whatever you want the rat to do, it'll see you coming and do something different. Humans are more obdurate, bloody-minded and independent. Not to say more rat-cunning than a rat.

Operant conditioning is drivel from socialist, collectivist "man as a unit of production - a mindless cog in a machine - a tool to be used" ideology. Their theory had a slight problem. THEY were the ones in the box. They were inside the Goedelian self-referential and self-reverential ring of madness from which there's no escape.

Sure, like most things, there's an element of truth to it.

The stimulus is fun DJ! We can't help ourselves. We respond. No extinguishing our behaviour.
