I think with regard to currency manipulation - the huge devastation has already been imposed on the American worker.

I must say I'm emotionally involved ,as I seen the dismemberment of a great dealer body accross the country.Major impact has occurred where cars are the dominant vehicle. Here in Texas the full size truck is still king and GM is gaining market share in that category.

The Japanese yen is so cheap relative to the dollar that it is not an issue of quality - it is well into greater content being offered at lesser prices (smaller incentives) and still resulting in better profits.

GM's answer is to buy Daewoo in S.Korea and Shanghai motors in China. We'll rebadge these low cost auto's and compete with anyone.

Unfortunately it is the poor UAW workers who loses by attrition. The unions are inflexible and won't address the issue - even if it would make a difference - I doubt it.When I was 19 I started working on GM's assembly line for 3 years. The lines used to be nothing but people - now they're all machines and a few quality control people. The workers are out of the car business.

Check out down town Flint (Home of Buick and the UAW) if you need proof.

I for one think George Bush has learned not to listen to the World Powers, but rather do what is "good for the Americas" and the rest of the world will also follow.I think we as Americans have turned a cheek on an inflated dollar long enough.

If someone wants to compete put the gloves on and allow full trade where the dollar doesn't get horded by world foreign banks and retained only to buy T-bills or notes.

I think the dollar's gradual decline to parity with the yen and Euro is just what the doctor ordered.Listen to earnings announcements and the multinationals are telling you it is very profitable when the dollar weakens.

Heck, that just what all the foreign companies know when our dollar is so strong - they have a huge advantage.

In short " I'm mad as HELL and I'm not gonna take any more of it!!"GG
