X, i've only got a couple of minutes. What she means by "see them through" is, I think, giving them enough space and stability to establish reasonable civil society (which they haven't had), decent human rights and a viable (hopefully democratic) government. See the articles by Gerecht and Taheri. Things aren't as awful as reported in the mainstream press. Regarding Shiites in Iraq. (You and Neocon had a go round about them). The term is about as meaningful as "Catholic" is to describe French and Italian folk.... Or "Christian" to describe the majority of US citizens. It means something but it's awfully broad.
