Question for the thread: has anyone else seen this in their city? ==>> Just now we had a full media blackout by our Fatherland Security apparatus for 5 minutes in Sacramento, all channels, cable and broadcast, about a recent child abduction. Hmmmm. We've had child abductions in the past, but for some reason, they've decided to BLACK OUT all cable/broadcast channels at the same time, leaving a blue screen, the buzzzz, and a printed message for 5 minutes. If this needs broadcasting everywhere, wouldn't it be better in a bottom-screen crawl message? The idea of confiscating the entire broadcast and cable spectrum from any other programming is very impressive. Way to go, Tom Ridge. If there's any other "event" that merits such blackouts for extended periods, anyone who wants non-gov't news better have a radio handy. Does this bother anyone else?
