RE: "...a government that has a problem with excessive spending..." I am opposed to a flat tax. I favor graduated income tax. I don't believe our government has a problem with excessive spending. I believe the government has been bought by the rich and tax revenues from the rich have been cut too drastically. The government spends on things that a great majority support; national defense, social security, medicare, education.
