The idea of confiscating the entire broadcast and cable spectrum from any other programming is very impressive. This paves the way for them to easily declare martial law, right after the "next, next Pearl Harbor" and right before the presidential election. If there's any other "event" that merits such blackouts for extended periods, anyone who wants non-gov't news better have a radio handy. It won't be hard for them to take over the radio broadcasts either, especially if the recent FCC actions allowing consolidated ownership of broadcast media are signed into law. (Although that certain vile piece of work seems to be running into problems with the newly-awakened opposition.) Does this bother anyone else? Its like watching a train wreck develop in slow motion... you know its going to happen and yet there seems to be little that can be done to stop it.
