Obviously there were standards developed in the 1960s, as in the 40s,50s,70s,etc..

FM radio and regular TV are two good examples while HDTV had to wait for the Japanese
and the 80s, although the RF parts still was a problem.

As well as those frequencies, as the US military still have not agreed to free up the domestic
ones for commercial use due to the cost and complexity of renewing the equipment to
different frequencies.

Btw, did you figure out the difference in blocking a transmitter and blocking a receiver
from closer range??

Napalm works fairly well against hardware protection for high temperatures
