No its more then a minor blip. But it isn't doomsday either or anything close to that. Its $1.9 tril out of an economy over that period that should be over $60tril.

I pretty much agree with Bolten

Also I don't think you can accurately predict the fiscal situation 5 years out. Economic growth could easily pick up resulting in smaller the anticipated deficits.

What worries me concerning the deficit is not the straight line projection of current and already planned programs but the fact that the government may add new programs or make major new expansions to old ones. Considering the current and near term future fiscal situation we won't be able to afford to do that.
