But for the most part, the people you speak of were of that region. They were not foreigners from other continents. That is a major difference.

True, Isra'El has done splendidly, and why not? They import the best and the brightest minds from the West, its technology and use the West's financial centers, not to mention the Treasurys of the same.

That is what makes Isra'El a colony.
