The difference is (1) North K. has nuclear weapons and missiles to deliver them and

And your point being??

Didn't the Russians and Chinese have nuclear weapons also?

Don't they still have them and multiple means of delivering them?

(2) We put North Korea on a list of countries that we are setting up to invade one--by-one -- the "axis of evil".

Actually, to be correct, it's their governments, and their leadership, which are evil. And would you say they are not evil by virtue of how they have subjugated and exploited their population?

Didn't Reagan refer to the Soviets as the Evil Empire? And didn't the Soviet government implode within a few short years?

Yeah.. we're ready for war as well, at least nuclear war.

And folks like yourself seem to be accusing Bush of being a bit unstable as well... But instability is a weapon of strength if your opponent is weak-willed and emotional. Scare your opponent/victim with your bluster and declared willingness to make their worst nightmares come true and you might just win a bloodless victory.

But Kim Jong Il is not stupid... He's looking for a better deal, which he can only receive if he shapes up his act and stops the bellicosity and plays "by the rules" of civilized behavior the rest of us generally abide by with one another.

And btw, it's the S. Koreans who will suffer the brunt of any attack, not the US. The war will be fought on their soil, as well as in the North.
