Bush threatened North Korea. North Korea fears attack from the US. China does not fear North Korean attack, they fear North Korea's collapse. South Korea fears that US provocation might trigger a war and North Korean collapse. We threatened them and now they want to talk. We should talk. As we fail to talk, the odds of a war based on miscalculation increase. Acting in an unstable and unpredictable manner towards North Korea is sheer stupidity. Talking to North Korea is common sense.
