I used to wonder how anyone can walk a complete 360-degree circle without realizing it. I learned that it's really easy to do, especially when the sun is directly overhead.

There is a simple cure for that circle fever caused by a hot, high sun.

It is called a map and compass. Or you can take the single pill cure called GPS.

For whatever reason, most of the trails we hiked aren't blazed

Let me tell you a big secret.
If you are hiking in a National Park and the trail you are on is not obvious or not marked in some way...you are not on a trail.
