I'm not sure Americans want to pay the price for your three reasons. And there is always the real (and likely) possibility that the longer we stay, the more we will be hated- and the more likely we are to see pan-Arab terrorist organizations in the region- uniting the Arabs with a common cause- getting rid of the US. Basically that was Osama's dream- if the US stays, we might as well be taking marching orders from Osama. Now I'm not saying the idea is treasonous by saying what I said- I'm merely implying that it isn't a good idea to give your very clever enemy exactly what he wants. It's JMO though.
