Well - we are waiting for a report

Hen party time <g> (but the boys can peek too if they want!!
Saturday went perfect. We'd been praying for perfection for months, and that if it wasn't perfect, that nobody would notice. Those prayers were answered...and I hear that's not the "norm" for wedding days. :)

All the gals met the limo driver at the reception site @ 11 and went for hair and makeup. Talk about a hen party!! The salon had champagne waiting for us. Yee haa...

Got to the church at 3 (looking lovely), pictures at 3:30...LOTS of pictures...no...LOTS AND LOTS of pictures. Every picture was taken before hand. I'm old school and it took a bit to convince me to let them see each other before the ceremony but it was all good, and I'm glad we did it that way.

They gave me a favorite friend to escort me down the aisle and we were strolling down and about 1/2 way I notice it's awful quiet. I ask him "where's my music"?? (S had picked out this wonderful Scottish selection for the moms) He says "it's not playing, she sent us down to soon"...then he offers to take me back up and "let's do it again"!! Well, I pondered it for a nanosecond, but decided prolly I shouldn't. Folks commented that I was too relaxed and enjoying my lil stroll too much for a mother of a bride...I kid you not!

HEY...like I told them, by this point, it's a done deal, why not drop all those swirling thoughts and enjoy the moment? It was a good plan. (I still have a big tear fest due, but haven't stopped to have it yet!!!)

Ceremony was beautiful and the bride was perfection. heh heh heh. Of course, you DO have to consider the source on that one. <g>

Music was great, flowers were beautiful, dresses were great, tux' were awesome, just enuff tears to make it sweet...but not so many as to be a distraction!

The groom still (even after 3 hours of pictures) gave the proper body language to get mama to let him have her daughter! He adores her, it's plain as can be. (He'd better hope he does, right?!! TOO many "uncles" I can sic on him if he doesn't!!)

Baby girl was maid of honor and she was beautiful...

Schweetie brought bride to be down the aisle slowly (working the crowd dontchaknow!!) and letting everyone have a good look at his gal. He paused briefly beside me on the way down, took my hand and gave me a look of reassurance and S gave me a look of perfect love. I think they were both not only including me in the moment, but letting me know it was all good. It will be stored in my heart as one of the most precious moments in my life.

The church was packed; standing room only. I think we had folks there that NOBODY knew!! (Ditto the reception!)

The went out, jumped in the limo and drove off to the church bells peeling. (Goosebumptime!)

R escorted me up the aisle and by the time I got to the top, I guess I was so relieved that I did a little "yee haw dance" (one groomsman actually referred to it as a little "shake a booty" dance!) and started hugging the groomsmen. I just completely forgot about the church annex where all folks are basically facing sideways and could see me. Yeah, I heard about that from more than a few folks! I don't care...I was happy, I was relieved, it was done...finally!

Our reception for 200 turned into a reception for 300+...so that was fun but it all went well and the "loaves and fishies" <g> multiplied and fed all.

OH...at the reception...this lady brought her daughter over to Shelby and I and said "excuse me, but my daughter is insisting on coming to see the princess"!
The "princess" melted...
Good call...she did look like a princess.
She had such a good time...and that's what it's all about.

Got up early Sunday and went to church...then made our rounds to see all the out of town folks before they left for home. The newlyweds were waiting on us when we went to check out to thank us, hug us and love up on us. It was good.

This morning...the kids came out and I took them to the airport for their Cancun Honeymoon. OH...they are staying where the WSI bunch went that year. I know they will have a blast.
Was thisclose to having my tearfest when I hugged her good-bye..but postponed it. (The cop wanted me "moved now"!)

It was a wonderful day...I now have a son and he understands (and will COMPLETELY understand later on) what it means to be one of our "children". He's a lucky man. <vbg>

Ok, I'll now open the floor for questions. <heh heh heh>

Thanks again all for your prayers and support!
E!
