In truth, the ones from Philly, and we have a number of them, are pretty good. They have respect for their surroundings.
They are the exception though. The others come to this picturesque location, known thoughout Canada, and they rush to destroy it. Nobody thinks they are destroying it of course, but the acts of greed and ego begin to add up -- a lavish nouveau boathouse here, a fence there in an area where nobody has ever put a fence, a tower there (a f*cking tower!), here a set of enormous, but ugly, windows to catch a better view of the outside from the inside, a no trespassing sign, ... you get the idea.
Eventually, these individual acts add up and they destroy the very thing they bought. |
