John, its misleading because it would lead many to conclude that the amount that was spent on education in the US was less then we spend in Iraq each month, when in reality it is a lot more.

If you want another not particularly relevant comparison - The amount Americans spend on beer is similar to what is being spent in Iraq.

Edit - Iraq is also costing about 10 times what we spend on potato chips.
