And then there is the story of the firehouse burning down - dailydarwin.com polkonline.com What an ironic twist. Humorous to most but I wouldn't run to the local firehouse to share the joke - the firemen might just see the story as an embarassment. Or as the tragedy that it actually is. But I might share the humorous story in general conversation. And if someone there takes offense at making light of such a misfortune, I would apologize - because I only meant to entertain, not to offend. And all of this without every having verified whether the story is true or just an urban legend. Eventhough even AP has gotten the story wrong from time to time. It frankly isn't worth the effort. But I certainly wouldn't let it become the source of a feud.
