You can show that it's short-term?
The case is much more compelling that shunning long-time alles, destroying US credibility, creating a new hotbed for fundamentalist recruitment, failure to properly plan post-hostility behavior, covering up Saudi complicity, exposing our own intelligence assets for "revenge" and throwing around ill-conceived threats will lead to a longer term security problem.
