well, manufacturing outsourcing has actually reached a sort of equilibrium in my view, I was surprised that Vermont congressman was dwelling on mfg in the latest Greenspan Q&A. We used automation in the US to bring back some jobs here, logistics costs being what they are and also IP issues make some manufacturing worthwhile.

Its the service sector that is really in trouble imho. Programming, accounting things like that, just like they said in that NYT article. Chip design I'm less concerned with due to the IP issues again.

If resolving this offshore issue is required to get the economy moving, we are going to be in this slump for 10 years imho. Sad to say but true.
