As I understand it, the market maker is the go between on the Nasdaq bulletin board whereas Cannacord is a Canadian broker. The market maker's profit plus whatever Nasdaq fee is the difference between what you would pay with Ameritrade and what I would pay with Penntrade. For some higher priced Canadian stocks I use Ameritrade, but for a penny stock like BHK-T $.11 per share becomes $.12 or $.13 which is unacceptable to me when I am buying tens of thousands of shares.
