Thanks for that post. Some perspective was in order.

However, I am completely on Cary's side when it comes to confronting anti-semitism.

I am with you on that as well. Racism of any kind is a vice to be stamped out.

there is a vastly different standard for Israel as opposed to the Palestinians

Really? As in Palestinians brutally occupied another nation and people here refused to condemn the act? Or Israelis are under occupation and have started to blow themselves up to resist and people are condemning that?

To condemn Israeli military policies and not condemning the suicidal bombings of civilians does make me wonder about motives.

Let's see if this makes my thoughts on the subject any clearer:

I condemn the lunatics who will not rest until Israel is wiped off the map, preferably along with all its residents. I believe the circumstances in which Israel came to exist were suspect, but now that it is here, its people and the country itself have a right to exist in peace.

However, living under brutal occupation, deprived of basic human rights, having lost their loved ones, watching their homes colonized by an expansionist ideology, if certain Palestinians find blowing themselves up a way to resist this occupation and all the suffering it entails for their people, I find that very difficult to condemn.

I see a difference between the two.

I hope this is clear. It is my personal opinion. It may be different than yours, and it may even be incomprehensible to you. However, think again before accusing me with a "motive".
