Hi Ray, <<Do you have information on typical use charges for cell phones in Hong Kong and the PRC?>>

... they are all over the place. I pay about USD 100/month for I am not sure what, but includes global roaming, dual-SIM card for China local number (two SIM on one chip, one HK number, one China number, embedded-forward feature) which saves money when I am travelling in China, Mbytes of GPRS enabled internet downloads, some dial-up internet downloads (if GPRS down or calling from overseas to embedded mobile ISP), cyber secretary, oddles of SMS allowance, stock/metal/foreign currency quotes, news, horse race info, and a bunch more of I do not know what, including 12 months lock-in for SonyEricsson P800 phone.

My wife pays (recent deal) USD 16 for 1,200 minutes as package with phone purchase (locked in to phone company for 12 months).

Trainer pays (old deal) USD 38 for 1,600 minutes without phone purchase contract.

Chugs, Jay
