Well said Dennis.
And to your point of little connection between al quaeda and iraq I agree. But after reviewing 9/11 it became evident that al quaeda and other terrorists do not exist in a vacuum. Thus each component piece needs to be taken down. Iraq--militarily is a first step that sets the stage for continued and increasing pressure on saudi arabia(which does have a direct link to 9/11 in many ways), Iran, Syria, Palestinian terrorists and the PA, Southeast asia, africa, other mideast nations, and as far away as NK as a potential supplier to all the above. Each of these are being dealt with in unique mostly non military ways, much of it unknown to us citizens. We are taking apart a web piece by piece. Iraq was a necessary start and if we get the peacemaking right a possible shining example of an alternate future for islamists, arab nationalists etc. Anyway thats the way I have come to see it. Mike
