Iraq was not a "terrorist" issue for the US; nor is Syria; nor is Iran; nor, for that matter, is North Korea.

John, it is obvious that you don't understand the "Nuances" of our Foreign Policy. We have to deal with a variety of countries that harbor people who mean us harm. They are all too weak to be a direct challenge to wipe us out, but they can hurt us, directly or indirectly, with small actions that can be terrorist in nature.

Before 911, we ignored most of them. Now we no longer can. The terrorists in these countries that mean us harm are fungible, and so is the money available to them. Some of these countries could hit us directly, others will simply aid terrorists and/or sell them WMDs.

We can no longer set around and argue about which of these countries will hurt us. If we think they will, we have to take Diplomatic/Military action as needed.

It is amusing that you complain about our "binary" approach while at the same time challenging the Admins use of different standards for different countries when judging exactly what method we should use.
