Before the Bell - Networking stocks fall BEFORE THE BELL-Cisco, networking stocks fall Reuters Story - August 06, 1997 08:45 NEW YORK, Aug 6 (Reuter) - Networking stocks fell in pre-opening trading after Cisco Systems posted second quarter earnings that matched Wall Street forecasts although revenues came in slightly weaker than expected. Shares were trading at 79-3/4, traders said, below last night's closing price of 81-15/16. Other networking stocks also fell, with 3Com Corp at 54-3/8 from its close at 55-7/16 and Ascend Communications Inc at 52-1/8, down from its closing price of 53-3/16. Apple Computer Inc shares rose higher, to 20-5/8 from a closing price of 19-12/16, traders said, on rumors that Microsoft Corp would buy a $150 million stake in Apple Computer.
