Fred - thank you for the supportive comments.

Some issues of perspective -

<<I have yet to see some decent Christian condemn anti-semitic comments >>
...I'm not sure that i have ever been able to identify a Christian on the web let alone a decent one.

<<a vastly different standard for Israel as opposed to the Palestinians>>
...You mean like there is a vastly different standard for America vs third world countries?
...That's the problem with being the biggest kid on the block. You are assumed to be a bully and must constantly prove that you are not.
...Unfair - maybe. But it also maintains a kind of balance of power in an otherwise unbalanced situation. (care to guess what would happen if the world didn't spotlight US motives every time we decided to do an intervention?)

<<To condemn Israeli military policies and not condemning the suicidal bombings of civilians...>>
...I'm not sure if you mean me specifically. For the record I consider the suicide bombings every bit as stupid as the Israeli reprisals. Each is just another step down a path of destruction.
...However - normally I get involve in these debates by responding to someone who is justifying the Israeli reprisals or attacking the Palestinian right to to existance. Which inevitably forces me to focus on Israeli actions.

These observations are mostly, IMO, an issue of perspective. You take a particular viewpoint and what you get fed back is the opposing viewpoint. Do that long and loud enough and pretty soon you get the feeling that everyone is stacked up against you.
...Just for grins - go to a Christian thread and pose as an anti-semitic Christian and see what kind of responses you get. Or start justifying the Palestinian suicide bombers (hey, it's freedom of religion!) and see how quickly the condemnation mounts.
