And no matter how great a TV advert is it doesn't push stock prices up. Don't be so sure of that. Do you think guys like SUNW advertise so folks will go to the store to buy Java? They advertise so people will go to their brokers and buy shares. I'm as thrilled at the increase as you are but I hesitate before looking for simple answers. Perhaps it is a simple answer (often the best way to beat those sophisticated analysts). Regardless of forecasts or earnings, the boxmakers are flying. GTW is in the 40s after announcing expected lackluster results in the 30s. DELL can't go much higher, and CPQ is at about 150 on a presplit basis. The folks buying UPSes are protecting the boxes these guys make. If it can drive the DD stocks up, why not APCC. This is hardly unexpected. Unfortunately, neither will a drop back to the teens on no news. But today our dog is a Greyhound....
