Chi-X..........

Since you have a page on AOL's server, you must be a subscriber. Since you are a subscriber, you must know that AOL supports cable modems. Keyword Cable....

"America Online's software is completely compatible with any cable modem system. Trial particpants simply set their communications settings to receive a signal over a cable line.

You may have noticed on the AOL Sign On screen a Setup button. When any AOL member enters this area and goes to "Edit Location," he or she can change the Network setting to TCP/IP. Cable trial particpants merely need to change their AOL software to these settings and AOL is ready to transmit and receive information over a cable network."

Why do you think that ATHM directly competes with AOL? ATHM mainly provides access. AOL provides access and content, and supports cable modems. Basically, ATHM will provide a faster connection to AOL...art will load faster, faster download times, etc. It won't provide the community that AOL currently has. Enjoy the service...
