The question of what do about Iraq was the issue. We made the case for war. We were told by the rest of the world, in the form of the Security Council, that they did not believe the case was strong enough and that inspections should continue. We made it clear that we would take matters into our own hands. We claimed that we knew for certain that the threat was real and immediate -- neither was true. I do not start off hating people and then think of reasons to justify hatred. I start from the premise that we have elected leaders and paid officials in Washington to do a job. When they don't do that job then we should be critical.
