"Who's interests the opinion might be or who benefits from it seems to be a secondary question"

We were speaking of YOUR opinion(s). I had hoped you would not consider such irrelevant.

""objective morality" would be just that objective, not based on someone's evaluation."

Morality involves assessment and judgment. It involves a determination. Objective morality refers to a human morality based on human values and reasoning. ABSOLUTE morality is a religious belief in moral principles invented by a God and universally correct. Some religions still consider it as leverage against other religions. In every case it is considered as a Commandment. This relates to Voluntarism.

"Right and wrong are not objects; they are assessments, evaluations, or judgments."

That statement is what I have been disagreeing with all along. I am talking about an actual objective morality not one that is based on assessments, evaluations, or judgements."

What do you mean by "objective"? Does objective assess? Remember that we are using "objective" as adjective modifying morality. Morality is about how one ought to act (you can look it up in the dictionary). We have not disagreed with objective morality...or a morality stemming from reason. We HAVE argued against an Absolute Morality which posits an extrahuman mind, because morality MUST be an assessment of individualized conduct.
